Paul Hopewell Attorney Bio

Paul Hopewell has been an attorney since 1996 and is a founding partner of Lilleberg & Hopewell, PLLC. Paul focuses his practice on insurance and business related civil litigation in commercial, self-insured, and personal lines matters. This includes litigating claims, providing coverage opinions, as well as advising businesses and insurers on risk-management issues. Mr. Hopewell provides comprehensive legal and business advice to employers, as well as commercial and personal insurers. Paul is a lead member of a commercial transportation emergency response team which supervises, advises, and coordinates immediate scene investigations of serious accidents with employees, insurance adjusters, field investigators, accident reconstruction and engineering experts. He has successfully defended numerous civil liability and coverage claims in various automobile-related cases, commercial transportation, landlord-tenant litigation, Dram Shop claims, homeowner insurance issues, and retail and hospitality claims. Paul has handled numerous wrongful death, traumatic brain injury, and other catastrophic injury related claims to the satisfaction of his clients. Mr. Hopewell has been voted a “Super Lawyer” in the Minnesota legal profession by the practicing bar in Minnesota Law & Politics on numerous occasions and is an AV Rated Attorney according to Martindale-Hubbell, which is the highest possible rating. He is a member of the Minnesota Trucking Association, the Minnesota Defense Lawyers Association, Twin Cities Claims Association and the Defense Research Institute.

Prior to law school, Paul was a four-year letter winner and two-year starter for the University of Minnesota Football Team from 1988-1991. Mr. Hopewell continues to enthusiastically follow his Golden Gophers. Outside the office, Paul enjoys spending time with his wife Michelle and cheering on his three girls, Isabelle, Olivia and AvaMarie, in their various sporting and school events.
